At present it seems only Pro and Enterprise subscribers can download meeting videos and transcripts. There are many times when you want somebody else who was in a meeting be able to review the meeting and download the video and transcript without having to subscribe for an account. Enabling people to do this would also spread the word about tl;dv, especially if the start of the video and the end has a tl;dv watermark added, and the transcript was downloaded as a PDF with a tl;dv footer on each page.

Dear Beta-Testers,
we have just released a Download functionality for all old & new tl;dv recordings. You can find it on the video-page of the individual video.
For now, the files are compatible with VLC Player. We will investigate adding more players along the way.
Happy tldv´ing :)

It'll be good to have an optional audio version, which is a smaller file size.

This is also very important due to the digital divide. One of the reasons we want to record our meetings is to have them available for clients who have unstable internet connections due to constant power outages, lack of access points in remote areas, etc. For them it is not useful to have the recordings in the cloud. Some cannot even participate in the meetings and only have secondary participation through notes when they have connection to receive them.

This is absolutely essential feature. For example, in our organization we must archive recording of very important meetings. It means to be able to record, download and put it on some kind of physical storage (USB, CD, DVD) for archiving purposes.

Bojan Jovovic: Thanks Bojan! It was great chatting with you today :)

This is super-high priority for creating trust - if I can't get my videos out, then I don't want to start using tl;dv and get locked in. We'll share the tl;dv link with participants because it has additional features like transcripts, but we need download as a backup.

Daavid Kahn: Thanks Daavid for sharing your thoughts here. It's great when our users give us some detail and context to their requests :) We will keep you posted!

Raphael Allstadt: Even I want this feature, this is one of the most important feture for my use, else I might have to find alternative and switch to something else (trust me I like TLDV, but no download means no edit and publishing!)
Raphael Allstadt
CSE Singh: Thank you for the detailed explanation! We'll keep that in mind when prioritizing new features.
